Coilovers and EVO's

I was just wondering, with the EVO and how it handles in stock form is it really even neccessary for coilovers? I mean the ride height isn't that bad to begin with as far as appearence but I just don't understand, how much does it improve the already outstanding handling?

Stock = Body Roll And Understeer
Coilovers = No Ugly 4" Wheel Gap And More Neutral Handling W/ O Body Roll

A rear sway will help get rid of the understeer and some of the body roll.

A rear swaybar and bushing swap really helps. It removes almost all traces of understeer (the rest done with tire pressure adjustments and a skilled driver) and makes it much easier to steer with the rear of the car. A MUST first mod. If your fine with the ride height as is, get this mod and leave the rest alone.

It all depends on your goals/budget. A propperely set-up coilover suspension can make your car ride more comfortably than stock, handle better, and look more attractive. Also if you're itching to make changes to your car, it's one of the few things you can change, without drecreasing drivetrain reliability or increasing smog/ street racing trouble with the "law."
