Question question about static weights on the rims

I've never own aftermarket rims before, so don't shoot me if this question sounds stupid Most of the stock rims come with small static lead weights attached for balance reasons. I'm wondering, do you need to put lead weights on aftermarket rims as well? Do they come attached when you buy the aftermarket rims, or are they put on after the rims are installed?

You should have your wheels dynamically balanced on a machine right after tires are mounted. The tire installer will adhere small weights to the aftermarket rims.

yeah and for aftermarket rims they use the strip lead weights on the inside of the rim so you don't have the ugly bar one on the outside..

Evo's tires aren't supposed to last too long, and I do a lot of driving. Any way to get around having messed up looking rims from mounting new tires? I know with stock wheels, with the lead weights on the rim lip, they always take the finish off it if you are to ever have weights removed.
