Chrome I don't believe will add more than 0.5 pound. Paint will look good too, especially if you can match it to the valve cover or body or something else. I doubt it is stainless steel, but who knows. You could try polishing it and see if it rusts. I am sure someone else has tried it before.

Great info! I'll probably try painting first, then if that turns out like poo I'll send it out to be powdercoated another color (QC coatings down in detroit does some amazing work, if you were wondering...I might even send out the rear strut bar to have it powdercoated...you can powdercoat titanium, can't you?)

Why would you want to PC titanium. IMHO it looks best raw.
