I believe they are unless it's an MR. I have heard they mave have a different spring in the rear but the strut should be the same.

If you are going to attempt to put IX struts on an 03 Evo 8, yes, they will work. Nothing about the frame has changed, just some small cosmetic upgrades. The only difference is the 9's struts might be tuned slightly differently than the 03 Evo 8's. Correct me if i'm wrong.

+1 but the springs in the rear only changed in the JDM EVO9, it was made 5mm lower to allow the S-AYC to properly work. I don't think the US spec spring was changed as we don't have S-AYC. The chassis and weight distribution are the same on the EVO8 and EVO9 (CT-9A) thus none of the suspension components should have changed.

I just did the MR suspension swap to my '03 Evo over the weekend. It swap's in just fine. The difference is (to me) very noticeable. Even in southern California we have some crap pavement to drive on and the MR set-up feels much more able to cope with a lot of the high frequency ridges that form on the freeway (anyone who's been on the 5 @ the 405 merge will understand). The only thing I'm not so sure about is that the car seems a bit high up front. I don't know if there's a difference between 03 and 05/06 springs because of the ACD (more weight?), or if it's the fact that they're brand new springs & bilsteins and the springs need to settle a bit. Overall though, very nice set-up in lieu of full-on coilovers

maybe if you had them professionally installed and not in someones driveway, one who breaks more sh#t than he fixes, we wouldn't have this problem now would we!
