best offset....

I'm looking to buy some Advan RG2's. I'm looking at 18X9, but I'm not sure what offset to get with my Tien S-Tech's I'm running on my car right now. The available offsets are 45/35/29/22. I'm wanting to run a 255/35 tire, but I don't want to roll the rear fenders.

Could anyone shed some light on what offset to get or is the 29 offset fine? If the 29 offset is fine, then what kind of tire would be recommended? I know the 255/35 is usually the size.

I just want to make 100% sure that I'm making the right choice.

Thanks....

+29 GTR face with 255/35/18's. I think JBigelow had this setup on his EVO for a while. I Pm'ed him a while back to see if he needed his fenders rolled and he said he did not have to roll them. Maybe you should talk to him to double check if you want. But I'm almost positive. If it helps I have some 18x9 Volk GT-U's with 255/35's and haven't rolled my fenders either.

You should be fine with that setup. If your ever decide to really slam your car, then you might need to roll the rears., but with S-Techs you should be good to go!

My recommendation would be to run offsets that closely match the stock rims (38mm offset). And 35mm seems to be the closest one that matches.

THat is what I was thinking. I'm not too worried about having the GTR face on my wheels. I just want my wheels nicely tucked in the fenders without any problems. My CE's were 8.5" wide with a 30mm offset and I would think a wheel and this .5" wider with a more aggresive offset would cuase problems.

Lancer EVO IX....what offset are you running on your GTU's? Got any pics? Wanna sell them if they are gold?

Thanks for the input fellas...

My car pretty much sits on the tires with the S-Tech's. I was gonna PM you about your wheels, but I seen that you had 18 x 8.5. I loved those wheels on your car.

So your GTU's don't seem to stick out a little past the fender? Maybe it's just the weird spokes on the RG2's that make it look like the wheels is sticking out further.

THanks for the pics. I'm PM'ed jbigelow...

they do stick out very slightly, but it doesn't bother me too much. in fact it make the EVO look a little more wide stanced and aggressive. if i were you i'd go with +29 offset on the RGII's (my 2nd choice when i was buying rims) so you could have the GTR face and that nice concave look. as well as 255/35's. ask jbigelow to send you some pics of his old setup, you'll be more than convinced when you see it.

Yeah....I looked up that thread earlier. It looks good. I'll probably go that route then. I got my money today for my wheels so I should be able to have them here next week.

If you decide you want some RG2's.....hit me up. I may just trade you. I had the choice between GTU's and my CE's when I bought them. I would've went with the GTU's, but they were 18X8.
