Question High Speed Handling

Hey guys, i've looked around in the forums and i'm unable to find a tried and tested high speed setup. I'll be taking my Evo to Germany for three or four years and i need a solid setup for the autobahn. I have questions about the following before i purchase what i think i need;

1. Lowering-should i lower the same that everyone else does? seems like driving at very high speeds on a regular basis would lend itself to some push on the body.
2. Full coilover- i know this will accomplish the lowering but the details of difference in bound rebound spring rate and what-not to a track setup.
3. Tires-i am an advan guy, so they better be good for me to swap them out. just concerned about the softness.

Thanks for any help you can give, maybe someone can point me to an southest tuner house. I'll be at Buschur next month so maybe them also.............thanks, sorry this is soo long.

Hi, the best setup that I can reccomend is the WORKS Ohlins Stage III Setup. This was designed for high speed use. We can send you the coilovers completely assembled along with reccomended alignment and ride height specs, taylored to high speed driving. We can also taylor the spring rates for your application. The WORKS Ohlins Stage III setup comes with front camber plates and rear pillowball upper mounts. It also has helper springs which will keep the spring in place at all times. The dampers are rebound adjustable, which will be what you will need to adjust for going from daily driving to highspeed autobahn runs. We have two people here who have lived in Germany and have done some extensive driving on the roads and autobahns there. So we know what to expect and how to do setup for the roads there, which can be very different that what we encounter here stateside. You can give us a call and we can discuss yuor options further.

You should also think about getting a rear undertray. The stock rear bumper tends to act like a parachute at high speeds.

You should really get on lancerregister.com. There is a large group of UK guys who go to germany and drive their cars at the Nur ring often. They could point you in the right direction.

the difference between a good track tire and the stock is night and day. swap them out the day of the event
