Are Coilovers for me??

im trying to see what the better set up would be for myself, shocks/lowering springs or coilovers. im looking for the best set up for street/drag use.

right now i have the jic flta-2 coilovers that may need to be revalved etc. the ride is real rough and i plan on setting them up once and not adjusting them again. i need to decide whether i should have them muellerized and revalved or sell them for shocks and lowering springs. appreciate helpful information. thanks!

I had the TEIN S tech springs, they LOOK great, but the drive is sub-par. keep the coilovers, or you will blow out your struts. if you want the LOOK, but WONT RACE, get the springs. Keep the coilovers for the LOOK and the PERFORMANCE.

I have heard tein springs aren't that great and on my friend's evo the drop is just stupid low. If you want springs hotchkiss i have heard is very good springs...good drop and does not hurt performance.

I dont know about that, any time you change the "geometry" of the car in its stock form, the car will not handle like the parts were made to do under certain loads, with the "unstock" ride height, and the rest of the suspension the same. unless you have coilovers. I have heard the Hotchkiss springs are better, but it doesn't take out the geometry in the equation. just my 2c.

A lot of people get coilovers that don't really need them....

Yes, there are some springs out there that probably hurt performance (cough green springs cough)

BUT there are some that will improve ride and reduce body roll (Swift).

Do you guys know about Eibachs? Are those any good? I have those now just to get the cg down, and it does grip better in the corners but I might have Mueller throw on some Buddy Clubs soon.
