Kumho Ecsta Mx = Happy

After 14k on the Advans I finally broke down and bought some new shoes....

I picked up a set of the KUMHO ECSTA MX 245/40/17 from www.tirerack.com and here are my thoughts after 300 miles.

The tire is pretty quiet from the get-go and settled down nicely after a few days.

They have enough grip for daily use. Unfortunately most of time when I'm hauling *** I don't know the road all that well because I'm just out exploring. So it's nice to have a tire that starts to show its limit gradually instead of pulling the rug out from under ya. I haven't heated them up yet so I don't know the full limit but I'm happy with the grip so far.

Another big plus is that they don't pick up every pebble and hurl it against the car and the 245/40/17 offers some wheel protection to boot.

To sum it up, sure there are better tires but I'm very happy with these. Excellent vendor, fair price, good value/cost ratio and fast shipping.

Glad to hear your happy with the overall experience! I also had them on my G35 and wasn't expecting much. But to my surprise they exceeded my expectations. I would have bought them again had I kept the car.

I have a set of 245/40/18 MX's for sale at 85-90% tread left. $150.00 plus shipping. If anyone is interested.

Excellent tire for the cost. No complaints.

Glad you had good luck with them. I had the MX's in 255/40/17 and I hated them as the sidewall was too wobbly for my taste and they didn't seem to be able to keep up with that high-frequency ABS of ours. I switched to the Falken Azenis Sport RT-615 in the same size and was so pleased, it was like night and day!

Are these on the stock rims? People generally leave out that bit of info.

My brother loved these tires on his Talon when he had it - so I bought them for my Saleen - now if I could just get the new motor in my Saleen - maybe I could actually see for myself how nice they are....
