Tire/Rim size confirmation needed...

The guys at Edge Racing just said that Falken didn't recommend 255/40/17's on the stock evo rim....is our rims 8 or 8.5? If they are 8 Trinydex does have them listed as a fit on the tyre FAQS.....anyone fit these on stock rims? FYI I will be using 15mm spacers front only.

He didn't say can't

Typically they recommend at least 8.5" for most 255 tires

Our rims are 8" wide

Correct. Is it more of a liability thing for them? Are you saying many people run that size on our stock rims? thanks for the reply...

That is weird, I recently purchased a set from them for my VIII and they actually told\convinced me that it would fit, and it did. No spacer needed.

When the tire is mounted (but not on the car) you cant tell that the tire is not on the recommended width rim.

When the car (and tire) is on the ground you see a VERY SMALL tapering of the tire side walls to fit on the 8 inch factory rim. It is so slight that when I tried to take a picture of it to show you it does not show.

Thanks for the added info....my issue is that I need rubber now and am going to wider wheels soon so I was hoping to get by with the 255/40's for a while until I get the new wheel size...
