brake upgrade???

Ok, I have a set of OEM pads and rotors on my car now and the squeal really bad, so I'm thinking of an upgrade. I've been looking to upgrade my braking system (slotted rotors, pads, and stainless steel lines) for a while now. I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions to what brand(s) are good and the one(s) to stay away from. I was looking at maybe a set of Hawk HP Plus pads (front and rear) as well as Rotora slotted rotors (front and rear). I was just wondering if anyone has these on their evo now and if they would recommend them or not? Also, if anyone has these, I was wondering if they squeal, or how much brake dust they make. The brake dust is not really too much of an issue, but I DON'T want brakes that squeal.
Any help would greatly be appreciated. thanks in advance.

Do you have any complaint besides squeal?
You're not going to fully avoid squeal as long as your brake pads create dust, which would be, um, always.

I'd get a set of drilled rotors instead. I dunno, i've never really liek slotted rotors before. Plus, the drilled ones dispense heat much more efficiently, and don't create much brake dust, but that really isnt an issue for you. I'd just get a set of brembo drilled rotors. just my 2 cents

if you want street, then fo drilled rotors. Track, get slotted. You can;' go wrong with rotora and the hawks. i peronally have endless and stoptech. Go to stoptech.com and see the FAQ section. very informative about brakes and rotors in general.

My evo has almost 36k miles on it, and I'm not really sure when the brakes were last changed, being that I bought the car used about 3.5 months ago. but I really want brakes that don't squeal and stop well. One of my friends has slotted on his 05 and doesn't have any complains. but thanks for your help.

Where did you buy your evo and what color is it? I traded mine in to Garcia Mitsu in Nov.

Anyway, I'd recommend staying away from drilled rotors, too many issues with cracking around the holes. Much better sticking with slotted for the Sandia crest road.

It's almost certainly normal. Do they really not stop well?

d

EDIT: you did check the pads right?

Upgrading pads is most likely make it squeal more unless you go with something that is lower performance. The stock pads work pretty good in terms of noise and performance.

I'm running some endless CCA pads on my car right now, and they are really quiet and stop good on the street. have yet to test it on the track though.
