5Zigen FN-01R

Looks pretty good, forged, only 6.6 kg, available in black or white and our specs (17x8, 38mm, 5x114.3), and not overly expensive ($440 @ http://www.shopresponse.com/5zigen_wheels.html). Looks like a good choice for us stock class autocrossers. But will it fit over our calipers?

They have a cast version too, a little heavier, a little cheaper...

I got an e-mail from Team 5Zigen USA saying that the weight on these wheels in our offset & bolt pattern is actually only 6.0kg. Also said that they will clear our calipers.

WRT price, I don't think $440 is out of line for a 6.0 kg forged wheel, but that's just me...

Actually, I've seen a couple of web sites offering it in bronze for an extra $20-$25 per wheel. Am thinking that would look pretty sweet on my yellow car, though looks are somewhat secondary to me for these, since they will just be used for autocrossing...

That is for the cast wheel. The forged is about 2x as much $, although it seems they are the same weight. I have a set of 17x9 on the way in bronze for my rally red evo. I will post pics later this week.

Trbo Dad: Yeah, I did a little more digging and realized that all the sizes they list line up with the FN-01R C cast wheels. That also means the 17x8 has something like a +48 offset. I think the cast wheel is 16lbs. while the forged wheel is about 14.5lbs.

The 17 x 9 that I am getting (hopefully today) has a 35 mm offset, so it should work fine.

Let us know guys...we are an authorized 5 Zigen dealer.

Again to reiterate, these are forged wheels, not cast, so the pricing is actually quite good...heck, Advans are very popular, and a very quality too, but most are not forged either!

FNO1R we have ready to go in 17x9, +35 (perfect fit for the Evo VIII). Available in Hyper Black, Bronze (just 1 set left) and a few sets of silver. Price is $599.00 per wheel. No idea who that other company is, as I have never heard of them.

The FN01RC is the cast version, and is also available in the same size (which is what is recommended for the Evo VIII). Price is $210.00 per wheel.

What other 5zigen wheels will truly fit the Evo?

Do you have weights on the forged vs. the cast for the FNO1R's???

Mine will be here tomorrow (17 x 9 cast) and I will weigh them.
