Swift Springs??

So I'm switching over to Bilstein's on my 2005 EVO VIII to smooth out the ride and basically just to get a better, smoother riding car. I was also thinking of upgrading to the Swift MR springs at the same time, but was worried that I may be negating the smooth ride of the Bilstein's with the stock springs? How is the ride quality of the Stock springs compared with the swifts, comfort-wise?? Is there any reason to get the Swifts other than for the drop??

Thanks,
Nick

I say you should do it, since you'll be taking out springs anyway. I've only heard positive things about the swifts. Make sure you get the ones for the MR.

The sprint springs are designed to give you the lowering you want without comprimising ride quality. Obviously the springs will be a little more stiff to compensate for the drop (watch out pot holes/speed bumps) but honestly this will make the twisty roads so much more fun. If you want to lower your car without rattling your fillings out this is the way to go.

BTW looked up the catalouge for springs I only show one listing, doesnt seem like they have different ones for the MR. Lower it 1.5" front and back.

PM for price

Swift does indeed make an MR specific version....never heard of Sprint springs.

Swifts will be a worthwhile upgrade to your stock springs. Designed to work with the Bilstein struts, reduced body roll, lots of good reviews, does NOT reduce ride quality.

I have the swift springs on my 05 mr. I can say that the ride quality is awesome. I drive my car everyday and have no complaints. Plus the car looks 100x better with the lower stance.

Got swifts on my MR and I like them. As far as ride quality they feel the same maybe a tad stiffer then stock. Nice springs for the money.

I do not know why everyone thinks they have to pay $250 + for quality springs for the MR. I think it is fake marketing by Swift just by putting an MR on their product. If you look at the spring rate for the Swift MR's they are almost identicle to the Tanabe GF210's. Tanabe's are only $160. The springs that come with the MR's are the same spring rate as the non MR's. You will not damage the Bilsteins as long as you do not go with a softer spring rate. Someone used Teins and blew their Bilsteins because of the reduced spring rate. I have Tanabe's. I had them in my 03 and now on my 06 MR. Do youself a favor and save that extra 100 bucks for something else.

Just my 2 cents.

How much was the drop for your Tanabe's?

Theres a lot more to a spring then just the spring rate and drop......which isn't to say anything in particular about $160 springs...

he's talking about swift, not sprint spring. they are piece of ****. they were big back in 92-99 making springs for honda, it was the cheapest sprint you can get. until Eibach killed it. Every high school kids got them because they are cheap price. i don't know why they cost $200+ bucks now for evo, when you can get way better spring for much cheaper price
