Purchase Bilstein's used w/ Tein S-Tech?

I've been looking to part with my Tein Flex and acquire some Bilstein's and Swift springs.

I have an opportunity to get some Bilstein's local, however, they have been used with Tein S-Tech's since March w/ 4,000 miles. What are the odds that these struts are in bad shape and life has been significantly reduced?

Please advise.

I would say that if you don't see hydrolic fluid leaking from them that you are okay. 4,000 miles is not all that much so long as he has been tracking them.

hopefully they aren't just cleaned off, but as long as fluid isn't coming out then the seals shouldn't be blown. have you seen them on the car? if you have that opportunity i would look to see if they are leaking, i've heard of S-Techs blowing the bilsteins in less miles, i'd be cautious.

As long as they are not blown they should be fine, as it has been said above look for fluid leaking through the seals. Bottoming out the shock can damage them, that can happen while hitting large bumps on the road. I don't believe taking them to the track will damage them, especially if the shock is not bottomed out.
