Dunlap or Falken

Owners I need your feedback. In a few weeks my daily commute will become longer and i'm looking for good tire for not a lot of cash. I'm trying to decide between the Dunlap Direzza or the Falken Ziex 512.

I couldn't handle driving my car with cheap tires, so I bit the bullet and switched back.

That said, I think the FK-451 is better than the ZE-512

being the author of the end all tire thread... i cannot with good conscience recommend either of those tires... but choosing the lesser of the two evils will lean you towards dunlop.

So what would you recommend in the $100-150/tire range? My advan's are getting worn out on the inner aspect of the rim and need new tires soon.

The Falken 452 is $100 per tire and decent. You will need to spend $150 to get something good.

TireRack is closing out the Bridgestone Potenza RE050A for $97 each, the treadwear is only 140, but that's probably a better-performing tire than anything in the $100 range by a long shot!

If I were replacing Advans again I would get BF Goodrich KDW's, Falken 615, or the Kumho MX. Choosing anythihng cheaper than those three will just make you hate yourself. Don't get dunlops either.

discount tire has Dunlop SP Sport FM901's for $128/each. 200 treadwear as opposed to the stock 160 so u won't lose 2 much handling.

there is nothing worse than reading about an evo that crashed bcuz of the owner using cheap tires!!!

if i had to buy tires & not get the stockers, i would get the Advan Sports $168/each thru tire rack with a treadwear of 180...

Toyo Proxes 4 are great tires. Friend got 30k miles out of them with 4 track session. I used BF Goodrich G force sports and also got 30k miles out of them too. the G force you can get from tire rack for 100 bucks each and the Proxes 4 go for around 120. G Force has a 340 treadwear rating and the Proxes 4 i think have a 320
