New StopTech Technical Paper: Caliper Move-out Kits

StopTech constantly receives questions regarding the appropriateness of using a larger brake rotor with existing stock calipers. These types of "upgrades" are typically called move-out kits, or rotor plus-sizing. We've discussed this topic with customers countless times in the past, but we've finally formalized some content on the topic. Enjoy.

just what i ordered, oh and a question.

do stoptech kits use a mounting adapter bracket or does the caliper somehow encompass a shape that mounts to the factory points but still allow for a bigger rotor?

We use brackets machined from aluminum for our calipers.

We ARE going to make 2-piece rotors for the Evo. When is another story. I'd guess we'd have something by year's end for sure.

we feel the stoptech BBK is a good bit superior to the stock brembos on the sti and evo....

the caliper is extremely stiff.....

these kits are exceptional performance for an exceptional price...

The Stoptechs are much, much better than the stockers on the track. Not even comparable. Even with PFC 97s and high temp fluid my stockers faded hard after 30 minutes or so with DOT tires. The Stoptechs brake harder and I think you could run them in an endurance race without fade.

Thanks for the support guys.

eddie, not sure if I can make it to BWillow yet. I did get a new Ron Davis radiator/oil cooler, so I may need to test it out.
