Brakes Question
I'm sorry that my first post has to be such a noobish one, but I have a question and I hope someone can help.
I have an 06 MR with a little over 10K miles on it. I wouldn't say I'm overly hard on the car, and that would apply to the brakes as well. However, when I apply the brakes I feel pulsation in the pedal, and if I apply them hard enough or at a fast enough speed, the whole car shakes. It is a rapid shaking, the pulses are close together in timing. I took the car into Mitsu who told me I warped the rotors and they went ahead and resurfaced them for me. I thought that was strange since they told me the pads are perfectly fine and like I said, I don't ride the brakes. Assuming they are telling the truth and didn't screw up the resurfacing (big assumptions imo), does anyone have any other ideas as far as what the problem could be?
Thanks so much.

Sounds like warped rotors to me. But I would check your whole brake system and make sure everything is tight. You normally really have to beat on those Brembo rotors to get them warped unless they came out of of wack from the factory. But if that was true it would have been that way from day one.
Definitely not that way from day one. I did always have more brake noise than I thought I should have, but other than that nothing... I probably should have mentioned that the car has had some other repair work, after I clipped a curb. They replaced much of the rear suspension, and informed me the ABS light would not go off. After much trouble, they discovered many teeth had been sheered off of the rear axle. They replaced that and told me the light went off. If you can't tell by now, I don't know as much about cars as I probably should. I would love to get my hands on a shop manual and read it, but anyways... I can't remember if the brake pulsing started awhile after I got it back, or immediately, but I still wonder if it has something to do with it...

Not 100% sure. I'd have to find the paperwork because the insurance company paid, I only worried about my deductible. It was the first time I had ever made a claim, and looking back I would have handled things a lot differently if I had really understood and known all my options.
