wobbly steering

Last night, I think I excaberated an existing steering problem in my evo by going over a small bump on the highway at around 80mph. At high speeds, my steering is problematic in the sense that if i tilt the wheel left and let go of the wheel, the car continues veering left, and the same for the right side.

Anyone know exactly what might need fixing for this matter?

Thanks

Get an alignment, they will be able to tell if there are other broken parts.

You probably knocked your alignment our of spec. Get an alignment ... if the steering is vibrating you wheels might need balancing.

"Wobbly steering" doesn't communicate to me the same situation as the "veering" you describe. While an alignment may be indicated for the "veering", there are other possibilities for "wobbling" of the steering wheel (vibration?).

A vibrating, wobbling steering wheel could be the result of out-of-balance wheels and tires, a bad tire, or even, in some cases, bad inflation levels. Try a few of those for the "wobbling".

Good luck and let us know what you find!
