The car does pretty well with stock struts except for when the bumps become large enough to unsettle the front. Then it takes a long time for it to settle back down and we do lose time there. I'm a bit of a shock snob, so I'm well aware of the improvements that a good set of dampers can make. It's just not in the owner's (Ro, on this board) budget right now.
We are trying to make inexpensive, incremental improvements in the car, and attacking the tricycling and non-linear response seems like a good start.

It takes alot more then that.
You have to drop the front rack down about 4" at least. There is a write up somewhere. I say give yourself 2-3 hours for install.
