You don't upgrade the suspension in order to "drop" the car. Maybe on a Civic or something, but this is an Evo with a finely-tuned suspension. The last thing you should be worrying about is "dropping" the car significantly. If you add just springs, you will likely blow the shocks. If you drop the car too far, then it will mess up the entire suspension geometry. You upgrade the suspension for the purpose of improving handling, but if you just add parts without knowing what you're doing, you can decrease the handling of the car. The lowering of ride height is just a good side effect of a proper suspension, and it helps to lower the center of gravity and reduce body roll. However, JUST lowering the car does just about nothing.

swift or works seem to be the most popular as far as springs go.

Struts, you mean. It's not about supporting mods, and it's not about finding springs. You get a full setup or package that is meant to work together. My race setup uses the stock sways, so don't just go buy sway bars or strut tower bars and chassis braces. Look at the packages designed by the experts and work from there if you want a complete setup that is meant to work together. Otherwise, just toss on whatever in hopes of having a cool-looking mod list and a big "drop."

Your first comment was that your friend's car with JUST cheap springs looked good but that you wanted more of a drop. That does not indicate to me that you are looking for a proper setup, so my apologies if I came to the wrong conclusions.

I understand where you are coming from. I am not just going to drop the springs on the stock shocks because i know they will blow and not handle well. I am just looking for a good starting point for my suspension and i will begin the upgrades from there and i thought i would start with springs/sturts or coilovers.

Why do so many people run these? Seems anyone that has ran these along with someone else claim the Teins are super super stiff. Just read 10/12k were the rates!
