i couldn't be happier! the car rides awesome and there is a night and day difference. handling improved and bumps aren't as harsh. anyone else EXTREMELY happy with the results?????????

Nitrogen in your tires? It's a waste of money. Air is 80% nitrogen. The stuff they put in your tires is only 95% nitrogen. Dry air would be completely indistinguishable from 95% N2. Any handling/harshness improvements you feel are imaginary. And forget about better gas mileage. You'll get more benefits from running a few extra PSI of air than from switching to nitrogen.

is that true? i was thinking about getting it put in my new tires. only 5 dollars a tire but if it isn't worth it im not going to do it.Originally Posted by Slowride

its definately not imaginary. i guess you just have to get it to realize the difference. it also extends the life of your tires and lowers tire temperature so it also provides some safety benefits to.Originally Posted by Slowride

Interesting. There's always a counterpoint, isn't there.Originally Posted by Slowride

I think this is an even better link, since it's not from a vendor of Nitrogen:

Pure nitrogen has some slight benefit over dry air. What you get with your green stem caps is only 95% nitrigen--the rest is mostly oxygen, which means you don't get the tire-life-extending benefits of pure nitrogen.
But if you're filling your tires with "wet" air--using a compressor without a dryer--then you might see some benefit from a 95% nitrogen fill. But for $5/tire, I really doubt it's worth it. Plus, are you going to top it off with nitrogen every time a tire is low?
