Front end "clunk"

So this is going here as I am thinking it is something suspension related...if not, maybe we can get some answers.

The car was down for a little bit. couple of months just kind of being pushed around. I am not sure what is clunking. I only hear it in 1st or 2nd when I come to an abrupt stop at low speeds.

I pulled off the wheels and checked the ol Bilstein's...They looked good. I checked the sway bar. The FMIC was off when it was down so I checked that, the bumper, the starter as I pulled that when I messed with the oil pan. The passenger side wheel lugs were looser than what I want so I tightened them. It seemed to have went away but then came back a couple of days later.

I am sure it isn't something mechanical and just something being goofy and annoying. Any ideas guys/gals?

The weird part, if I am rowing through the gears "briskly", I don't hear it. Like I said, it is just at low speeds in my neighborhood...Maybe pulling in the driveway and stuff. Thanks in advance.

Kris

Blah..>Saw the post below but I thought my clunk was different. 20 pages later...seems like we all are experiencing the same thing.

Just sucks that there are so many ghost noises with this car. Kind of embarassing with someone and you clunk and rattle here and there...especially when it is a car priced as much as a nice used M3. Oh well.

check the clearance on your exhaust or DP all the way from start to finish.

It may be rubbing against something when the car stops and things flex and move forward.

is it like a clunking noise when you hit a speed bump, or when your turning in your driveway? Like a "clunk".... and sometimes "clunk-clunk". Mostly all slow speed?

Both speed bump and driveway actually. With both sounds as well.

i would say take it to the dealer, they find it fast, when mine was clunking i took it in to the dealer and they told me it was a loose bolt that was rubbin against the wheel whenever i turned left or right.
