Tire question.

Getting new tire soon. I want to put wider tire, 245 or 255 on the stock rim. Suspension is also stock. How will this affect the car (performance wise) and will it even fit. Thank, any advice will be appreciated.

I put some 245/45-17 Falken Azenis RT-615 on my stock enkei wheels, and they're awesome. Very sticky street tires

Y?

If your looking for performance. I'd either say with the stock tire {best option} or go with 225/45, 235/40, or a 245/40. Believe it or not the 225/45 is a good option especially wih a stock supension. 225/45 or 235/xx tires will usually weight 2 to 3 lbs lighter that a 245 or 255.

I had the falken 615 in 245/45/17 {the dot number stated they were made 1.5 yrs before i had them installed}, but these tires sucked ****. I also measured the width of the tire print left on the ground. It measured ~7.25". Now my W300 Hankook snow tires in 225/45/17 left a print just over 7". Now these tires are 5 to 6 lbs lighter. Is 5 to 6 lbs more in unsprung weight worth less than .25" of tire weight. I will never buy these tires in this size again. I probably won't buy them again. Maybe they would be better if they were manufactured closer to the date they were installed and if I shaved them.

Affects on the car will be more slop in the steering. That razor sharp feel that a stock EVO on Advans 046's will be gone.

Good Luck
