I'm also thinking about putting some IX Bilsteins with Swift springs on my 03 GSR. Please let us know how you like them!

I think this upgrade on the RS makes about as much sense as you can make in that the Bils are better made and more capable than many lesser coilovers and keep you in the geometrical sweetspot while also giving you lots of dynamic travel which is so very import.

I hope so anyway as I'm in the midst of doing the same thing to my car. If I do find the springs to be a bit soft I may go with the works springs as they are a bit stiffer but designed to stay otherwise friendly with the dampers.

To top everything off you can find low mile MR suspensions for sale for peanuts... thank goodness some folks can't keep from taking off great parts and then selling them!

I believe there is no difference between the 05 and 06 MR suspensions. in japan i know they lowered the IX by 5mm in the rear to work better with the AYC which we dont get

well why not use good aftermarket springs that will work well with the Bil.'s for that nice stance and even better handling. well at least that what i plan on doing.

I had the Works MR springs installed on my IX MR and they make a huge difference in reducing body roll and they also look better as well. They are 1.2" lower in the front (you can opt for 0.9" if you would rather) and 0.9" lower in the rear. They are also 15-20% stiffer than OEM. I'm really happpy with them

that doesn't mean USDM cars aren't lowered too for the sake of homogenization

I will be installing the IX MR on my IX RS soon.

I am really torn on if I should opt for a WORKS type set of springs. I don't want coilovers AT ALL, but I don't want to go slightly lower. The standard even drop of the WORKS springs appeals to me, but I really want the Eibachs that are on the JDM/UK FQ-360. I know they will end up costing more than brand X coilovers and whatnot.

Why do you specifically want the FQ Eibachs over the Espelir or Works that are also matched to the Bilsteins?

+111111111 RS's should have come with Bilsteins stock. Bilsteins FTW, they make very capable struts with superior dampening characteristics!

The rear of the Evo IX's was lowered to reduce premature activation of the ACD and AYC in order to give the Evo IX a more natural driving feel than previous Evos.
