When I brake hard and the ABS kicks in there is a thump in the car. It sounds like I ran over something and it hit the bottom of the car. I don't know if this is normal or if I should have it checked out. Has anyone else experienced this?

 

normal for ABS... they are very loud when activated...

i've yet to experience ABS on the EVO yet though...

 

I have experienced this when braking hard as well as when accelerating over rougher terrain (not so rough that the car might bottom out or anything, though).

Suspension clunkiness?

 

i'm experiences some clunks form my suspension since i installed the Eibachs, but maybe it's an inheret trait of the EVO...?

yep, i've heard the same noise at full a.b.s activation. It only happens when the front suspension is at full compression, nose dive. I put the car on my lift to inspect it and found nothing. Only thing that I found was that maybe on full compression the sway bar makes contact with the frame. Not positive yet. Sounds nasty as ****, like something metallic just snapped!!

 

Is this the "thump" sound that the car makes when hitting the brakes hard and entering a corner...sounds like loose suspension or something?
