EBC brakes...

I searched for opinions on EBC brakes as they seem to be a great value considering price, unfortunately all posts about them are a year or two old. In the April issue of Dsport magazine, they did a review of tuner brakes and the EBC looked better than almost all other pads.

I'm looking at getting either the red stuff or the yellow stuff. What i've determined so far: Yellow stuff is rated as a track pad, but it supposed to have excellent cold bite with 0 fade on track days; however suffers from some brake dust. Red stuff is the street/track ceramic pad that has almost no dust whatsoever.

Just wondering if I could get opinions from those that have used or had experience with them. Also looking at their rotors as well, so any input on those would be great as well. Thanks guys.

I had EBC Green and Red in the past and I don't like its perforamce at all. I would go for Hawks.

I just put ebc red stuff on and i think they are fantastic, I had the hawks before, and i had nothing but noise and dust. Now its quiet, they stop on a dime and well i have no idea about dust because i never wash my car so i can't tell the difference lol.

I have a friend that runs EBC Reds (i think the reds) on his STi for street/track use. He loves them.

While no pad does both well, this one seems to balance things out. He was stopping faster than me, so that leads me to believe they are more aggressive them PF Z-pads; but not by much.

I have the EBC slotted and dimpled rotors on the front, with Hawk pads. The combo seems to be OK. I do get some noise from the pads moving over the dimples. Sorry, I can't comment on EBC pads.

Green pads suck, not that impressive bite on the street and they don't stand more than few laps on the track, before melting away.

a freind had a set or ebc red stuff and lots of brake dust and he feels they lead to the damaging off his rotors due to the harsh compound.. btw he ran red stuff for a couple years straight
