Work Emotion CR-Kai 17x9 +28mm

Does anyone have these wheels?

I don't have a picture of them but from what I have obtained from Work's Japan website is that they are concaved face.

Thanks,

Curtis

Curt, find that thread that.....I think chris@nolimitmotorsports started and someone posted the info from works site. If I remember correctly, all the 9" and 9.5" wide are concave face according to that sheet. Funny thing was, Ravspec was advertising the 8.5" +20's with a concave face, and according to the list they arent supposed to be! I will see if I can find that thraead......

I can't speak japanese, but if you look at the kanji above the 3 columns for the 18s, and the 2 columns for the 17s, the middle column of the 18" wheel sizes is different then any other column. Which tells me something.

See how the 18x8.5 has offsets in both the left column and center column? I'm guessing it has something to do with caliper clearance, like "high, medium, low" from left to right.

Ya, that sounds right. There is a site that translates......but I am not a member so cant find out! I will email it to my friend.....he's a member. I will post the results. I was thinking something to do with medium concave face, and deep concave face. we will see!

Yeah, the original file is a PDF from work's japan webpage. I couldn't capture the japanese text to paste it into an online translator though.

OK, couldnt copy the text like you said. So he called out to their warehouse in Cali and talked to one of the japanese reps after emailing the above info from work's website. He said it states from left to right: Semi-tapered, Medium Tapered, and Deep Tapered. This to me just talks about the face, but interpret it as you may. Hope that helps!

Sweet. That makes sense. It explains why the 18x8.5 +20 emotion's are slightly concaved, but not as much as the 18x9.5's

I'm thinking of getting some 17x9's so i can keep the 17" tires i have right now. But I want to do a little more research before I put down any money.

just found this thread.

we tried 17x9.0 28mm offset, it required a 5mm spacer at the front to clear the caliper. That's why we went to 17x8.0 32mm offset.

17x9.0 has similiar concave like the 18x9.5 20mm offset, but it's doesn't clear the brembo caliper, off by 5mm.

In reference to the pictures that Curt941 posted, cr kai are available in different pad size, the one all the way to the left has the most caliper clearance, thus less concave.

if you look at the 18x8.5 , 20mm , 25mm offset are in the middle columns, while 30mm offset are in the left column, thus the 20mm and 25mm has more concave face than the 30mm.

18x9.5 20mm has the most concave, but it's too wide, required fender modification on EVO.

I might get some of the 17x9. They are just kind of expensive for what they are.

not really, Cr kai are not that expensive. around 1200 per set. WORK has been around for 30+ years , and their quality and style are among industry best.
