I think this really depends on the wheels and the application. I know it might be hard to believe, but not all wheels are made for EVO's,

some wheels will require them others wont.

I am in the middle of getting my wheels put on but the shop. They could only make the rear work with spacers, the fronts need new wheel studs and spacers. Really sucks because I had to pay $107 to them for taking my stock wheels off, balancing, putting the new wheels on, and then putting stock ones back on. So I feel I wasted money, I wish I knew to buy some earlier.

Quick question

Are hub centric rings required to put on a 5zigen fn01rc ? What size wheel studs would you use and where to buy them, I can't find any online. How big of a spacer?

Thanks for any help

They are 17x8

I just bought extended 14mm wheel studs and spacers, do I really need the hub centric rings still?

Volk makes wheels specifically for Evos, so does that mean you don't need hub centric rings for them?

why are you running a spacer on that wheel then? they make a proper offset in that size that'll fit the evo with no extended studs.

thats what the shop told me they had to do. the back wheels would turn with just a spacer but the front were rubbing the calipers. Even with their spacer in the front they said there was not a good amount of thread left on the wheelstuds.

What are your experiences with the Fn01rc?

sounds like you have the wrong offset.

i had +35 17x9's. no spacers, no issues, no nothin. (need a conical lug nut, but any aftermarket wheel needs them.

So I should ask for a higher offset? Do you still have alot of thread? Also by conical you mean open ended for new studs? I already ordered all the stuff, don't know if I should sell it or use it. If it just needs an offset change I'll be happy doing that as long as the current studs can handle the load

The shop I took it to must have alot of ignorant mechanics because they want to change my wheel bearings and studs... probably just a dishonest place

To run a 17x9 fno1rc, you don't need anything other than the wheel, and a tapered lug.

Stock lugs have a washer on them. Aftermarket taper out as they go up. this is a conical lug nut.

No spacers, etc.

If you want to run bigger than 255's though, you'll be rulling your fenders, but a 255 on a 9" wide rim isn't going to rub a bit. (full lock maybe).

Stock studs work just fine.

I see, so don't use the 5zigen lugs? Do you have a link where I can buy the lugs you did?

summitracing.com

don't quote me on it, but if i remember right, our lugs are 12mm x 1.5

I'd suggest open ones, just incase you do end up running longer studs. (and they're normally cheaper)

Thanks for the help I appreciate it man. Now it's time to go see what they have to say about it. They basically charged me $100 for a balance and changing back to the old wheels.
