Tire Questions

I got a evo IX and going to replace the oe tire. I three tires in mind Bridgestone Potenza RE050A, and RE960 AS, and General Exclaim UHP. I am looking for tires just as good as stock but without paying $266 for one tire. If anybody has any other possible suggestions that would be great.

If you're willing to put 255/40/17 tires, I'd go with the Falken Azenis RT-615. At $146 each at discounttiredirect.com, they offer pretty good performance for the money.

The Kumho MX are a decent tire...The sidewall is not as stiff (IMHO) as the OE tire and does not offer the same level of dry traction, but will last a lot longer. It really depends on what you are looking for....

I have the Kumho MX because I was looking for a good dry tire with good wet traction that would last longer than 12K miles, also they are 3.5# per tire lighter than the RT615s.
