255/40/r17

what would a set of 255/40/R17 tires look like on a 17x8 wheel? would it be too wide for the wheel? i just wanted to get a good idea of what it would look like..thanks!

oh ok...sorry 'bout the that. i just didn't have a very good understanding on the 17x8, 17x8.5 wheel size thing and i wanted to know how wide i could go with the tire size...but next time i'll do a search.
