Anyone have problems with DBA rotors?

I'm having some problems with a pair of DBA front two-piece rotors and I'm curious if anyone has had similar problems.

The brake pad is rubbing on the edge of the aluminum hat, steadily grinding it away. I discovered the problem after a track weekend and thought there was some sort of caliper alignment issue. Unfortunately everything appears to be right with the calipers and the grinding is happening on both sides.

Anyone seen anything like this? It looks like the hat is simply too large for the factory caliper.

Just curious if anyone else saw this sort of interfernce before I call the company to complain.

Yes, both my friend and I had that problem on both of our cars. We simply ground a bit of material off of the brake pads and they work fine. They've been on my car for over 4K like that.

This was an issue on some of the first ones that were sold here in the US. The problem should be corrected by now.

That's good to hear that it's a known issue and has been resolved. I don't want to have to grind pads down, for a number of reasons. I'll call the vendor and see if they can get me some replacements.

Quick update on this.

It seems that there were a batch of these rotors that were not aligned correctly for the car. DBA recognized the problem and redesigned the rotors.

My rotors came from Ben @ Rallysport Direct. I called to let them know about the problem, and they're having replacements drop-shipped directly from DBA, no questions asked. Pretty great service.

Thanks Peter for being very understanding about this. It is always tough when you are trying to set a car up for the track and have to wait for parts.

If any of our other customers have a problem do not hesitate to contact us about it. We stand beind every product we sell.
