Having trouble with brake pad swaps...Help!

Hi guys,

I am in the middle of swapping my brakes pads after the trackday. For some reasons, one of the pistons of right caliper won't compress no matter what I tried.... I even opened the nipples little bit to relieve some pressure, but it didn't help.

I've been swapping my pads for trackdays more than 10 times now and this never happened before. What the heck is going on here...?

It's likely frozen, are you compressing both pistons at the same time?

Fronzen??? No, the upper piston is already compressed all the way... so, I am only trying to compress the lower one right now. What am I doing wrong here?
Thanks.

What are you using to compress the pistons.

the race pads wrapped with shop towers and a long flat head driver to compress the trouble one since I don't have enough space to use the pad. Thanks.

I have decided to disassemble the caliper to press the piston properly.
However, problem got worse.
It was so easy to push the piston back in but while it was going it pushed the other completely out of it.

here are pics of it.

any suggstions how to put it back in?

thnx alot~

If it is like any other caliper I've worked on (other than to replace pads I have no Brembo experience), you first remove the dust boot. Then you put the dust shield on the piston and insert the dust boot into its groove in the caliper before inserting the piston.

to the original guy...

Remove the fluid reservoir cap. You're trying to pressurize liquid thats uncompressable.

Pop the cap, put all the pads in, close the cap, get in the car, pump 2 times to seat the pistons back on the pads, and be on your way.

As for dissassembly, heh, good luck

Sung,
I can probably put that back in for you tomorrow or so. Hopefully won't take long if you want to stop by.
