discount tire direct said they would fit. I callled in the order just because of that. I wanted to make sure they would clear!!!! But they dont. So i called them up again and matt told me he would check and get back to me. So he called me back in 15 min and told me that he got a call back and said the all the rims in the mit evolution fitment will fit but then f5. So now if you look on the sit you read out of stock. next time they update the site they are going to take it off. I loved the rims but with them hit n the cal i dont think i wanna do a spacer and bolt. Dont know if the stock's will rub or for that matter dont know it the f5 will rub with them. so now i am looking at the moda md1 from tire rack

you answered your own question... It's probably the spoke design that's getting in the way.
spacer / longer studs
1/4 in = 6.35mm.
You might be able to get away with a 5mm spacer other wise get 10mm spacer.

I just had the same problem with my new rims. I ordered 5mm spacers for the fronts, the rear should be fine. Make sure you get hubcentric spacers, made for the EVO. These are the ones I bought:

Even with the stock rims, looking at it, the calipers are really close to the spokes!
