Question play in rear right wheel

What can it be?

If I pull on the tire (with the car jacked) from up top and push from below there about a 1/4 inch of play. This only happens when pushing/pulling from a certain position.

I had a similar issue on my old car but it was the front right and had to replace the hub and axles. But that was pretty bad as the caliper would move too.

I road race the car so doesn't surprise me that it would take its toll at some point but i would have expected the fronts to go first so confused why its the rear. i'll get it checked out on Monday.

suspension mods - i have RRE buddy clubs, 25mm sway bar and trailing arm bushings.

I would check the bearings and ball joint. Being that you said the caliper is moving as well, I would thinnk it would be the ball joints

you need a new wheel bearing no doubt about it...... there are no ball joints in the rear..

The only way to tell is to LOOK and see where the play is, and yes there are ball joints in the rear of an evo.

thanks for the replies. the caliper moving was on the old car not the EVO. I'm honestly puzzled as we jacked up the car at the shop to test it and the wheel is rock solid...no play whatsoever. i'm totally confused as i checked for that play a lot of times.

but at least a tech looked at it this time and found nothing wrong.
