Bilstein West in USA? They can replace the piston part of the strut. I had a MR strut rebuilt that needed that -- so it can be done. Originally Posted by CristianRO

Otherwise, cut off and have a good welder weld on a new threaded section or search for a part out/used strut.

When the cars dropped that low you have to be super careful with bumps and pot holes. The strut will bottom out and blow much sooner than something with less of a drop.
Current topic is really about rebuilding a stripped thread piston on the Bilstein.
S-Techs are too low and too soft -- 4WS is pointing to that and potholes. That IS a recipe for blown struts.
Research and read up on Swift (Sport and SpecR), GTWorx, and RobiSpec -- those are the best.

Yah see the bilstein guy that called me from bilstein California said that only this I need to be replace is the center strut rod which is only stocked in Germany where all MR bilstein were created .. Not USA .. U needed the piston maybe they were able to replace it with a diff bilstein piston that fit fine... Idk I'm gonna bring it to multiple shops this week n see what their inputs are.. Anyone know of someone partying out a mr bilstein strut.. Or even selling a single front strut?Originally Posted by SmikeEvo

after looking into the FS forum found out no one has only 1 front bilstein for sale... and i would really like to fix the ones i have... to be a little more specific with my problem heres a picture of both struts side to side so you can compare and see in details my problem. i had some suggestion of welding a screw to it but idk what would be best. thanks.Originally Posted by SmikeEvo

I'd watch ebay. Those bilstiens are on there all the time.
If you want a complete replacement set with about 3k miles (yes only 3000) hit me me up.
I'm getting deployed and returning my car to stock.

Have you taken it to a good machine shop? See if they can weld on a new threaded section.

Bought my use MR Bilstien with 35K miles on it, and had Swift springs on it for the past 50K miles and it's still in good shape.
It's probably like what everyone else said. It's the Tien. I'm not too sure if it's the drop as it's pretty similar to the Swift, but the know that the spring rate of the Tien is softer then the Swift.
