quick question about installing brake pads

Hi, while changing stock brake pads I noticed there is a spacer between stock pad and metal shim. Im installing Ferodo 2500 pads right now but they don't come with any spacers. Should I reuse the once from stock pads, or just put the anti-seize compound between the brake pad and the shim.

I have a track day on saturday, and have to finish my brakes tomorrow. Already did 3 of them before I noticed that spacer on stock pads. Will I be OK if I don't reuse those "copper" spacers ???

here are few crappy cellphone pics

thx

it will be ok but probably make a lot more noise without them.

+1

Use those shims or your pads will squeal like a stuck pig. I had DS2500's put on and they didn't peel those shims off the OEM brake pads, and my brakes were intolerably loud.

I've got DS2500 too.
I used anti seize compound + stock shims. No noise at all with the brakes

I switched to Hawk hps pads and I took the metal spacers out, everything works fine. A lot of noise , but at the track who really cares.
