Umm....they're both awesome. There is no "handsdown" winner.

I think you'll get a good answer if you let people know what your using the car for and how much $$$$ your willing to spend.

Right on. There are many different offerings from both companies, with a huge range of price. Motons are better at some things, Ohlins better at others.

What do you use your car for and what's your budget?

Hey Andrew,

Can you tell me more about the differences between Ohlins & Moton? Money is no object, I want the best of both worlds (street driving & track).

PM sent. If anyone's wondering, I basically deferred to Myles (owner of Racecomp Engineering and GTWorx), who has much more first hand experience with many high end set-ups then I do.

I'll try and get him to post in this thread when he gets in.

#1, be careful when you say 'money is no object'. Price can escalate into the tens of thousands.

#2, there's no such thing as 'best of both worlds'. You'll be the best at one, or the other, or decent at both. Race cars aren't anything like street cars and vice versa.

Assuming you buy higher end Ohlins, not the cheap models, the two can be very comparable in performance. In fact, its likely that the difference will be more apparent because of the skill of who sets up the suspension rather than the quality of the coilovers themselves.

Pick a suspension guy who is known for setting up suspensions. Avoid shops who's only experience in racing is putting their stickers on someone else's car.

Since you are in CA, Robi is always a good bet.

Depending on how high end you want to go, it may be possible to step up to Penskes...regardless a good tuner can recommend what works best for your budget and intended use.

i am using öhlins-rally in my evo6, fully adjustable, very strong build suspension, with an excellent mechanical finish! but also pretty expencive: ~10000 Swiss Francs!
