Brake pad advice needed.
I've searched the forums but I can't come to a conclusion on what pads I should replace my stockers with.
I called the Mitsu dealership and they quoted me around $500 for the pads, and $250 for the labor and parts. I understand that the Evo is expensive to own and have no issues with that. (I have three sets of tires, and I don't take it to the track or street race) I just feel the need to spend a huge amount on Mitsu Rape-me or ultra high performance pads when I don't need to.
I saw the deal going on at Lancershop for Hawk HPS front+rear combo deal for $159 and wondered how they'd do for very 'spirited' driving. Are they any good?
Basically I like the feeling of heavy braking and I heel-to-toe nearly every time I stop, so my brakes get a lot of use. Nowhere near AutoX or Track days, but probably heavy compared to the average driver.
I hit 22k miles and the pads are just starting to hit the 'squealer' pads.
thanks

You must not have searched very hard, but the Hawk HPS is a very popular replacement pad for our cars, don't buy parts like that from the dealer, they just rip you off. The HPS's work good for the street and auto-x, but track days they will fade fast.
