Tein S.Racing Circuit Master Coilover vs KW Variant3

what do you guys suggest?
occasional track use, spirited street driving.
does not really concern about riding quality although this is for daily driven car.

The build quality and valving is superior on the KW's in my opinion. They use full stainless steel bodies/shafts and come with a lifetime warrantee. We do a lot of V3's with custom spring rates as well, which gives you some flexibility as far as setup. I know you said ride quality isn't a big concern, but some of the Teins are pretty brutal. KW valving is such that they don't dial in a huge amount of compression and rebound damping like a lot of the Japanese manufacturers do.

Those Teins are the double adjustable ones, right? I would think that those would work very well, though they probably would likely ride much harder than the KWs and require more time to dial-in. I believe they also may suffer limited droop travel. But if they are dialed in, they are fast. I'm pretty sure those are what Kekek has run with great success in BSP this season and there is a racing team in the Salt Lake Area that has had great success with those on their road race shop evo in road racing at Miller Motorsports Park (beating cars on Motons and other high end set-ups). I saw the car at the track in a race and it was very very quick around the corners.

KW's are the better choice for you. They are better on the street and they can perform wonderfully if properly set up on the autocross course or race track.

KW variant vs JIC Flt2 vs Zeal XS???

really appreciate the responses.
what about KW variant vs JIC flt2 vs zeal XS?

some track days, mostly daily driving with spirited drive everyday, to/from work.
as i mentioned above, ride quality does not really matter.

will appreciate responses...
thanks all.

I'm surprised you don't have Ohlins under consideration. I think they are great for a street driven track car.

Aren't the Teins more than that? Also, the single adjustable Ohlins are around $2500 (give or take a couple hundred).

That's what I was thinking. I'm just not much of a TEIN person myself.
Check out the new Ohlin DFW Sportlines. They are similar in price to the KW's (once you add in the camber plates and suck on the KW's). The KW's results are well documented, and a lot of people run them - so you know what you're getting there.

I've talked with GTworx about both of these and the prices came out nearly the same. Just my .02 if you're price based.

I would get the KW personally. Zeal gets rave reviews from everyone who tries them but they are damn expensive compared to comparable other brands. JICs are not bad, but a lot of people who use them for drifting seem to break them easily. Tein full-race spec coilpvers are better than their lower and medium level units, but they are widely criticized for being too softly dampened for very hard driving, and bouncy.

If you are interested I'll have a set of the Tein Super Racing for sale soon. I've got something else $$$$ coming in to replace them. I'll be honest, they exceeded my expectations for what they are.

FYI, spring rates are 12kg/mm front and 10kg/mm rear. I have been running stiffer than that in the rear and can include the springs.

I have no comparison to the KW's since I have never run them nor driven a setup car on them.

PM me if you're interested.
