Question Hawk HPS pads

I need rear pads and I was thinking about getting the hawk hps pads but I was also thinking on the Project Mu "B-Force". A friend told me they nice, but wanted more opinions so I'm still on the fence, so can you help me decide. Thanks

Run a search on the Project Mu "B-Force" pads. I believe the overall response isn't as positive as it is for the Hawk pads.

I am a heavy autocrosser, but wanted characteristics of a somewhat streetable pad, and I went with AMD's performance friction metallic Z pad.

I have used Hawk HPS, HPS+, Axxis Metal Masters, and EBC Greens and Reds, and I have to say this is the best pad for street/autocross use, period.

Thumbs up

I finally went ahead and purchased the Hawk HPS pads and they are working just fine. No loudness and no heavy dust either. They were the best choice overall.

Thanks for all the help everyone!

Did you have to turn your rotors for just a pad replacement??

I asked someone about this and they told me it's necessary, can someone chime in with a response?

Compared to the Project Mu B-Force pads I promise you that the Hawk HPS's will fade quicker. I vote Project Mu B-Force -- as they are actually rebranded Ferodo 2500's. At least that's what was stamped on both sets I received for my NSX and 350Z. Great dual purpose pads! I ran these on the track for two years in both cars, at countless driving schools at VIR and Summit along with two time attacks. I'd buy them again in a heart beat.

I'd also recommend checking out Carbotech AX6's which were designed for street/autocross or the XP8 which is a street/track pad.

If you can find the Performance Friction Z-Rated pad that is another excellent choice.

Good luck!

I just noticed you're looking for rear pads. What are you running for the front? The compound you use up front will play a role in your decision for rear pads.
