so i know this has most likely been covered. and ive been searching and found alot of good info but not what im looking for. Im getting the blizzak ws-50s...but im not sure what size. Im either goin 235/45/17 or 245/45-17...ino the first number is the thickness but im not sure which one will be better, 235 or 245 ino stock is 235 but ive seen alot of people goin 245...also i have the stock VIII wheels

A lot of people says that 245/40 R17 look nice on the stock rim. But if you go with lower profile tires, the ride is going to be a little bumpier. I don't think 5mm is going to make much of difference but it something to think about. I don't see a problem with it, I mean going with 245/45 R17.

I went with Bridgestone RE960AS in 235/45 R17. Didn't want to go bigger because of cost. I think either or, you'll be OK.

I just mounted 235/45/17 Blizzak's, no complaints so far. Go with the stock size then for summer throw on some wider rubber.

Why would you get a wider tire for snow use? That make no sense at all...

Go with the 235's.

Yep, narrower tyres are recommended for winter use. Stick with the stock 235/45 R17 size.
