new shocks
Really depends on the type of use your shocks see. If you've been driving on very bumpy road, rally-xing, bottoming them out due to jumps or lowered springs then your shocks are more likely to fail sooner rather than later. If you drive them on very smooth roads most/all the time (this could even be a race track), then your shocks are less likely to fail sooner.
When they do fail, you will know for sure as your car will keep bouncing over bumps, ruts, etc. With that, the KYBs are prone to failure much quicker than the MR bilsteins (which almost lasts for ever due to their special valving).
