Stock tires getting harder?
Stock tires getting harder?
Are the stock Yokos softer when they are new? Do they have less grip with more tire wear?
My Evo was pushing somethin' aweful today.
What kind of pressures are you guys running for autocrosses?

I've noticed my Evo was looser at the last autox. Not sure if it was the tires or the track that day. I had pretty good luck with 41frt 39r. The last autox I went down to around 38f 35r and it didn't feel as good.
Mine started chunking up after only 3 autocrosses and 2000 miles. I just bought some Azenis and had them put on. They are supposed to withstand the chunking a bit better
I have gotten the best results with 40frt 38 rear. Why would you drop the pressure that much? From my experience, tires with this sidewall will get less traction as you remove pressure. Obviously you can lose traction with too much pressure, but 38-42 isn't going to hurt traction.

My tires only lasted 6000 miles.
They seemed to grip for all 3 months I drove on them.
The car is so cambered in the tires are shot already.
If I did not rotate them when I did they would have popped.
I now have 255/35/18 Pole Position tires.
They grip well.
so far my tire budget calculates to $266.666 per month.
