Worse handling than stock due to being way too low. They are made for one thing - ricers who only care about slamming their Evo as much as possible with no regard for the health and handling of the car.

Make sure you get your car aligned once you slamm your EVOSIS. Yes aftermarket springs will prematurely wear out your struts.

S-techs are not for ricers, haha. Tein is a reputable company that makes very good suspension items. Pretty sure a ricer would probably cut their springs or something. Obviously they are not the best suspension upgrade in the world, but theirs also the thought of different wants and needs for different people. I see plenty of people running them with no problems. Its all a matter of choice.

You're contradicting yourself. You're saying these awful springs are not for ricers, but then you go off on that predictable "it's my choice" rant, which means you're saying it's ok to rice out your car just because you have different "wants and needs." Well, sure, I never said you can't run these springs. I just said they are bad for the health and handling of your car and do NOTHING but slam the car down. Hence, ricer...

Yes, Tein is reputable in general, but the S-Techs for the Evo do one thing - lower it far beyond reasonable means for the sheer purpose of "looks."

Lastly, you DON'T see "plenty of people" running them with no problems. They all do the EXACT same thing: lower the car far below what the shocks can handle, worsen handling, and blow the shocks. I highly doubt you even KNOW "plenty" of people with S-Techs on an Evo. You would have to know a LOT of dumb people for that to be possible...

TEIN S-techs are designed for Style. That's what the S stands for. Style master or something.

In TEIN's own definition, they are not designed for performance. TEIN knows better. These springs are for show only.

If you want to be a "style master"....go fo it. Not really my thing personally.....

I would agree that the s-tech is for looks only. Anytime I take a corner, all I hear is crunching of suspension. The springs are always popping. Luckily my brother will be selling a decent set of tein basics. Hopefully that will get rid of the cluddering sounds of the s-tech and give a bit more performance enhancements. But even with that drop, I got the alignment back to where it needed to be with no kits.

I'd advise against S-tech's if you REALLY care about performance. If it will be soley a street driven Evo, without much moutian/back road use, they're comfortable, work great, and look good.

I have S-tech's and I can't WAIT to get rid of them. Once I can afford some Megan coil-overs, the Teins are GONE!

They're really not AS bad as people make them out to be, BUT You can do MUCH MUCH better. Again, I'd suggest you don't get them, ESPECIALLY if your car sees the track.

If you want a low daily driver and dont track then go for it.If you decide to start tracking then go for a real coilover setup.

wow i heard some pretty bad things about you, i don't know you from adam, so i never thought twice about it, but damn people are right about you being a ***, just like you think you are right about these springs. He asked did he need a camber kit not can he take a turn doing 120mph. i don't have the s-techs but i am getting them because yes all i do is race in a straight line, i can't wait to "rice my car out" maybe i will put a big buschar sticker on the side of it too, i'm sure that will give me some performance. people say that turbo is a waste a money but it doesn't stop people from buying it, because we are not all out to do the same **** as buschar does it.

I know about 5 people in my area that have them no problem, everybody knows the lower you go the quicker your struts are going to go out, we are not as stupid as you think.

from what i heard the car launches better with them, don't know if its a fact but thats what i was told.

Warrtalon how are you sponsored by evom your a total *******. I plan on getting the tein s techs as well. I know four people who run them without problems on there evo. I only want them for looks and don't track the car. I can't afford coilovers aswell. This is a community for people to get together and help each other, to be positive. Your acting like a immature kid grow up.

Ive been riding on the S-Techs for 6k miles now my struts arent blown as of yet the car still handles very well. For a DD your not going to take your car to the limits on the streets and if you do then your an idiot and the springs are the least of your worries.I hate when people always say you bought a 30k car why do you buy a 200 dollar part.First not everybody wants a full out coilover setup because like me the EVO even though i like it is my DD and not a track car,i have other cars for that but alot of people here forget this car isnt just bought to be a race car.

There are several members on this forum using S-techs without complaints. I met an EVO VIII owner who has 60K miles on these springs and is satisfied.

Interestingly, in the UK they seem to like S-techs very much.

In the end it is a matter of personal preference.

I have had them on my car for roughly 25K miles and I can tell you my shocks are dead, the ride quality in my car is terrible and I will be replacing them with stock MR suspension with stock springs or maybe some swifts. They are good for the money and before my shocks dies I personally liked how it handled.
