Lots of grease on rims-- help!

So I pulled the chipped peeling calipers to paint them, reassembled and triple checked all off the nuts and bolts. I now have what appears to be grease, not brake fluid, splattered all over the inside of my rear rims. any suggestions?

You might have a cv boot that has a crack or a tear and centrifical force is flinging your grease out.

Big trucks use lots of heavy grease and after they have been lubed they will throw grease onto the road. I've driven through this and had it all over under my car.

There are also the cattle haulers, but that isn't grease.

it'probably the cv boot-- just don't know how it may have been torn on both rears during the caliper removal-- guess it's a trip to the dealership.
