i know zeal and silkroad are made my the same manufacturer, so the only differences will be spring rate

If this guy really does want the best that only leaves him with Ohlins, Moton, and Penske as options, if he wants something that is affordable ohlins can be within a decent price range, if not look at some of the other suggestions on this list.

I am not surprised at all to not see tein and tanabe on these lists, while they are great coilovers they do not fall under the "best" category. But i am definitely not saying that they are anything less then a very good option for a coilover.

I would say to save money and watch the used market like a hawk. Wait for a set of JICs to come up for sale and then jump on it.

I have a set of these on order. It was more than I wanted to spend but I feel I am getting Moton performance at a JIC/KW price.

Everyone is just naming different brands.....with no other information. I could name brands until the sun goes down, but it doesn' t mean anything.

What do you use your car for?

Do you auto-x or track your car?

If you're just looking for a drop and decent handling, get a set of Swift or our own GTworx springs.

I would save your money until you can afford KW or the new zzyzx EM Sport coilovers.

In the meantime, get as much seat time as possible. Maybe get a set of springs and a rear sway bar to tide you over.

If you're looking to spend around $1000, perhaps you could take a look at these.

Read this:

It has more than you ever really wanted to know about coilovers in it. And at the end of it, the guy asking the questions wound up sticking with the stock suspension anyway.

Out of curiosity, how much is a set of those zzyzx EM Sports? Those things look quite badass.
