non directional tire rotation

I'm just curious... What's the draw back to just moving front to back and back to front for non directional tires? Basically rotating them as if they were directional tires. I just got my tires rotated at the dealer and they said they never cross even with non directional tires. Do you guys see any problems with that?

I don't see why you couldn't cross rotate a tire that isn't directional.
