Springs? The pros and cons?

I am thinking of going with a spring set up instead of coilovers... because the car handles amazing as is and it will be my daily driver. I was wondering what the drawbacks of springs where, do they affect the life of the stock suspension and will it even improve handling? I just want to lower the car so it doesn't look like a dump truck. Pros? Cons? Thanks

Most people jump on the "everyone must have coilovers" bandwagon but really have no need for them. If you're not tracking or autocrossing your car, or if you're new to tracking the car in general, you really don't need coilovers.

It's important to remember that they're are good springs and crappy springs out there. Just as there are good coilovers and crappy coilovers.
