Probem with StopTech Brakelines

Just wanted to let everyone know that I had an installation problem with the EVO VIII StopTech SS brakeline kit. I ordered both the front kit 85-615-4430 and the rear kit 85-615-5500 from Vivid Racing. During installation I found the line locator (Fig 1) was reversed and therefore I could not properly mount the line locator to the line locator bracket. Notice in Fig 1 the 17mm hex nut is on the top, when it needs to be on the bottom.

(FIG 1)

I called StopTech and spoke with Paul in Customer Service. I explained that the line locator was reversed and send him several pictures. I also mentioned the rear kit didn’t include clips for the rear brake lines where it attaches to the hard line. He said he would make me a new pair of front lines and send 2 extra clips for the rear and FedEx them to me. The FedEx package arrived the next morning and the line locators were correct (Fig 2) and the 2 extra rear clips were included.

(FIG 2)

I called Paul back to thank him for his great service and his quick fix. He mentioned they are going to offer an updated kit for the front 85-622-4500 and add clips to the rear kit 85-622-5500. Overall the install was simple and the results are great. I will post a How To later today.

Do the rear lines have the 90 degree hard pipe like the stock lines? Whats the price?

Sounds like great service. They should have been right from the start, but sounds like they handled the problem as well as they could...good to know there are good companies out there.
