Brake pad
I just got a set of HPS hawk brake pads.
wear indicators on the front brakes are supposed to be on the outside of the rotor and should be on the top so you can see it on both sides. YES OR NO
(I did read in the how section) on brake pad install but im just asking!
What are they meaning when they talk about the arrows on a brake part that was supposed to stay up or toward the wheels or front of the vehicle. Are they talking about the spring retainers? \\\
Thanks i am mad that i spent 2 hrs changing my pads. Im doing my 60-0 stops to break in the pads and they squeal ALOT MORE Than my WORN POS pads. Even when im just slowing down.
I did use brake grease in the places that how to told me too and also brake pad quite on the back of the pads.
I did not cut my rotors and i hit them with some brake clean before i installed the rims. They were not bad for wear

Research
OK i took a better look at the Do it youself part on this fourm.
I now know that the arrow is on the shim on the stock brake pad. Problem is the pads that were on the car were not stock when i took them off so i could not reuse them. Is that going to make a big difference with the squeal? Why would you reuse them all the time?
Also i used the orange brake quiet on the back of the pad (found out that reading the instuctions on the bottle would of been in my best interest) Said it sould not be used on shimed pads. Then i used some hi- temp brake caliper grease on the pins and friction parts on the retaining spring.
Does anyone have any other info on brake pad shims. Still found nothing on the wear indicators and how they were supposed to be on the car. I have one facing up and the other down on both sides on the front.
