Performance Difference between 18x9 vs. 18x9.5/10 wheels?

how much of a difference in performance really is there comparing 18x9 low offset (+21 or so) compared to 18x9.5 low offset (+22 or so) wheels? i have hrs fenders up front and rolled/pulled rear and i got a good deal on a set of volks that are 18x9 +21. i know i can run low offset 18x9.5 or maybe even 18x10, but i was wondering if its really worth trying to go for the wider size? tires i will be running are falken rt-615's in either 245/40 or 265/35. mostly street/drag racing and thinking about getting into autocross. appreciate the help!

I'm not sure you'll find that much of a difference in performance between the two sizes for street/drag, maybe a little weight advantage on the smaller size. However, having 18X9.5 gives you the ability to run the popular performance oriented 285 R-compound if one day you decide to take turns with it, so IMO it's well worth it.
